Lake Thunderbird State Park offers a variety of water activities and recreation. The park features two marinas, Calypso Cove and Little River, a boat ramp, and a swim beach. Hunting is available in specified areas during season as well as horseback riding, horse rental, and boarding at the Thunderbird Riding Stables. An array of hiking, mountain biking, and nature trails are also available. Accomodations include over 200 RV sites with full hookups and restroom facilities, primitive campsites, and unfurnished single room lake huts. There is a day use fee for the Little Axe campground area. Lake Thunderbird State Park also features playgrounds, picnic tables, an archery range, seasonal restaurant, and nature center. Directions: 13 miles E of Norman on Alameda Dr, or 15 miles E of I-35 on Hwy 9.
